Product Overview

(shown actual size)
The FC series of closed loop feedback controllers are designed to maintain the air/fuel ratio of C.N.G. and Propane powered engines at a stoichiometric mixture. They are available in 12V and 24V versions in both the adjustable and fixed mixture types. The adjustable type controller affords the ability to bias the fuel system either rich or lean to fine tune to specific catalytic converter configurations. Typical emissions reductions are between 99.2% and 99.6% using this system with a three-way catalytic converter.
Mixture control works on the principle of leaning out a rich biased fuel system by partially venting the venturi pressure to atmospheric pressure and supplying this combined pressure signal to the top of the diaphragm of the converter. The amount of atmospheric pressure mixed is controlled in accordance to a feedback signal from an oxygen sensor in the engine exhaust. There is a proprietary control algorithm that allows optimum air/fuel ratios to be maintained at any load through all R.P.M. ranges without the use of throttle position or tachometer signals. The FC series controllers will work on engines from 1.2L to 14L displacement having 2 or more cylinders.
Constant monitoring of the fuel system is displayed on four amber LED lamps as well as a single red/green/amber oxygen indicator lamp. This allows the installer to easily setup the fuel system as well as it provides an “at a glance” view of the current engine condition. Clogged air filters and fuel system problems are easily diagnosed using these indicators. If the controller is unable to maintain the correct air/fuel ratio due to a fuel system fault there is a “Check Engine” lamp that will illuminate to advise the operator that there is a potential emission problem. A remote mounted check engine lamp is available as an option.
